A stunning original painting from established artist, Ivan Berryman. This powerful painting portrays an RAF Spitfire MkXII, MB858, "EB-D" of 41 Squadron on a desperate and dangerous mission to down a German V1 flying bomb before it reaches the UK mainland and drop randomly anywhere in the south east of England, from Kent to London. The sight and sound of these "terror" weapons became a daily occurrence for the population exposed with the range of the V1 and V2 flying bombs. Their targets were undefined and they simply dropped out of the sky when fuel ran out. Acrylic on canvas. Supplied mounted. Image Size: 485mm x 275mm Canvas Size: 505mm x 300mm Mount Size: 600mm x 405mm Please note; the mount provided (for protection during shipping) is the original used when it was framed and can either be used for re-framing or disposed of for a new mount & frame of choice.
