Published in 1979, this very rare Limited Edition aviation art print by Frank Wootton is signed by the legendary Luftwaffe fighter pilot, Adolf Galland. From an original painting by Frank Wootton depicting Adolf Galland in his last combat sortie; leading Me262s of JV44 on an interception of USAAF bombers high over Bavaria. After being charged with the formation of JV44 - the famous ‘Squadron of Experts’ - Adolf Galland became the only General in history to lead a squadron into battle. He finished the war with 104 air victories, all in the West, and was decorated with the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords and Diamonds. The Last Combat by Frank Wootton is signed by legendary Luftwaffe fighter Ace: Generalleutnant ADOLF GALLAND – Knights Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords & Diamonds / 104 victories. Despite now being over 45 years old, this print is in very good condition, it has never been framed and has been stored flat, out of sunlight. The actual image area is in excellent condition with no fading. It comes with the original Certificate of Authenticity.
